High School Concert Band
The High School Band is an advanced instrumental ensemble for students grades 9-12 who have previous musical and instrumental experience. High School Band is based on the Indiana Academic Standards for High School Instrumental Music. Students in this ensemble continue their musical journey by learning even more about their musical instruments and performing complex music.
Students who wish to continue to develop even further are encouraged to participate in the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Solo and Ensemble non-competitive contest. Students in this group also participate in the Pep Band, Bomber Brigade, and have the opportunity to participate in the Jazz Band and Winter Percussion. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in the Indiana Bandmasters' Association (IBA) All Region Band, grades 7-9, or the IBA All District Honor Band, grades 9-12.
The High School band will additionally hold various rehearsals before and after school that apply towards their grade in this ensemble. All band classes are co-curricular, meaning that any and all out of school rehearsals and performances are a part of the class grade.
This group will have a minimum of five performances throughout the year:
* Non-marching band students in Concert Band first semester will be given a chamber group piece, and alternate assignments to rehearse/ complete in class throughout the marching season.

- Rensselaer Winter Concert in December
- ISSMA Organizational Non-Competitive Contest in April
